Senior Director of Sales & Marketing

Los Angeles|Sales

IMPORTANT NOTICE: We are exclusively seeking candidates with direct, hands-on B2B sales experience in 503B outsourcing, sterile compounding, hospital pharmacy, or specialty injectables. If your background is strictly in retail, software, or non-healthcare sales, your application will not be considered.

Overview: Xseer Pharmaceuticals is an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility and cGMP-compliant sterile injectable manufacturer based in Los Angeles, CA. We are seeking a dynamic, highly driven Senior Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our commercial expansion.

This is not a purely administrative or "desk-manager" role. We are looking for a true "player-coach" and builder. The ideal executive will roll up their sleeves to personally open high-value accounts, architect the foundational sales processes (including CRM implementation), and eventually hire, train, and manage a high-performing team of Sales Representatives. If you thrive in a growth-stage environment and know how to sell on quality, compliance, and clinical value rather than just competing on price, this role offers unparalleled executive ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Player-Coach Execution: Actively prospect, negotiate, and close net-new business directly with hospitals, clinics, infusion centers, med spas, and specialty pharmacies while simultaneously building the commercial division.
  • Sales Architecture & CRM: Build, organize, and enforce a rigorous, data-driven sales pipeline and CRM system from the ground up, ensuring meticulous follow-up and lead management.
  • Value-Based Selling: Develop and execute sales strategies that emphasize Xseer’s cGMP compliance, sterile quality, and relationship-building, moving conversations beyond mere discount pricing.
  • Team Building: As market share grows, lead the recruitment, training, mentoring, and day-to-day management of a specialized outside sales team.
  • Marketing & Brand Strategy: Coordinate targeted marketing campaigns, digital outreach, and attendance at key industry events to elevate Xseer’s brand visibility within the sterile compounding and healthcare space.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, quality assurance, and product development to align commercial strategies with manufacturing capacity and market demand.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical commercial roles (sales, marketing, or combined commercial leadership).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience (people leadership and/or leading cross-functional commercial initiatives).
  • Deep, demonstrable understanding of the 503B outsourcing facility, sterile compounding, or specialty injectable landscape.
  • Proven track record of directly opening and managing accounts with hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, and specialty pharmacies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build sales systems (CRM implementation, forecasting, pipeline management) in a startup or rapid-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence—able to influence internal stakeholders and external healthcare decision-makers with credibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, PharmD, or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%–50% as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience launching a pharmaceutical product or leading a major regional/national territory expansion.
  • Familiarity with payer, access, and reimbursement dynamics.
  • Experience working with distributors, GPOs, and/or strategic channel partners in the healthcare supply chain.

Compensation:

  • Good-faith base salary range: $120,000–$200,000 (USD).
  • Expected hiring range: $140,000–$160,000, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
  • This role is fully eligible for a highly lucrative annual incentive plan (bonus and/or aggressive commission structure) to reward uncapped growth.

Additional Requirements:

  • Pharmaceutical sales: 3 years (Required)
  • Sales management: 3 years (Required)
  • Location: Los Angeles, CA 90025 (Required)
  • Ability to Commute: Must be able to reliably commute to our Los Angeles facility in person.

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Health savings account
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
